Anne’s Developmental Journey with us
Background
As part of CCG (Scotland) Ltd mandatory training programme, Anne a Trainee Assistant Site Manager, was signed up to our SVQ Level 3 Construction Site Supervisor (CSS) programme.
Anne’s Developmental Journey
Anne, along with 12 other candidates, attended 6 half day developmental workshops. These sessions cover the knowledge and understanding aspects of the SVQ and are designed to spark ideas and to help candidates build confidence and knowledge. The programme also includes a handful of 1:1 sessions with an assessor and an on-site visit.
Prior to commencing the programme, Anne explained that she was looking forward to enhancing her knowledge, getting her skills verified and to interact with others in a similar role. Anne also admitted that she had concerns regarding time and the use of technology. However, after attending the first workshop and meeting the team her concerns did not became an issue as Anne explained that the Esteem team “were on hand with advice when needed.”
Learning Outcomes
Having now completed the programme Anne believes she has enhanced her knowledge as the content discussed was “pitched right for the job role” she is in.
Anne also mentioned how valuable the group discussions were for building her confidence with public speaking. Something which is critical for a Site Manager’s role. In addition, Anne felt that the sharing of knowledge and experiences was a key developmental tool and she gained a lot from it.
Anne’s Overall Thoughts
I highly recommend Esteem for training as the training is excellent. The workshops were extremely helpful and provided a great environment to learn and ask questions but also to share experiences with other candidates. All the staff were excellent and make the programme what it is. Having my VQ allows me to have a solid confirmation of my practical site bases experience in a recognised qualification
