Allan busy Assessing NVQ3s at the new Tottenham Hotspur FC Stadium
Allan, our NVQ L3 and 4 Assessor has been working on a Fast Track NVQ3 programme for 26 A J Morrisroe candidates. Great progress is being made by all and Allan is enjoying seeing the difference in the candidates as well as the projects they are working on. Allan reports:
“Exactly one year ago, Tottenham Hotspur new football stadium was still at ground level. A year on and progress has seen a corner of the existing being demolished to accommodate the first part and levels of the stadium. The main contractor is Mace and the company that I am currently carrying out NVQ assessments for are Morrisroe who have the concrete specialist work to do. There are currently over 600 men working on the site. It is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with various shift patterns. The stadium is scheduled/programmed to complete in August 2018 ready for the football club to move in for the follow on season. It will incorporate a new hotel attached to the stadium, underground car parking, a virtual reality experience centre giving fans the opportunity to get up close to the Spurs experience, a museum and club shop.
This is one of the safest sites I have experienced in my time of assessing. First class communication throughout the site and very high security. Near neighbours kept up to date with progress and more importantly, the fans kept up to date. One part which I was very impressed with was where the fans actually walk through a part of the new stadium which is still under construction in order to gain access to one part of the current stadium stand which is still in use.”
