The Esteem Team attends the FMB Conference and Dinner Dance

An excellent Friday for some of the Esteem team who attended the FMB Scotland AGM, annual dinner dance and business conference at the Glasgow Crowne Plaza last week.
The Conference
The conference theme was ‘Energy Efficiency and Retrofitting: Business for SME Builders.’ Andy, our Business Development Manager and our Assessors attended the conference. They all found the presentations of great interest and definitely left with some food for thought. The rest of the team are looking forward to hearing more about what was discussed at our next Team meeting.
The Annual Dinner Dance
In the evening Trudy, Ian and Andy attended the Annual Dinner Dance. The event brought the Scotland SME Building community together for a fantastic evening of industry networking as well as the opportunity to have a bit of fun and enjoy a 3 course meal. Definitely not a dull way to spend a Friday evening.
The team split up and spent the evening with some of our great clients. Andy, sat at the Haldane’s table next to their Managing Director – Andrew Haldane. Andrew has completed a couple of our developmental programmes and has put many Supervisors and Managers onto our Modern Apprenticeship programmes. It was fantastic for Andy to have the opportunity to speak to Andrew and Peter, a manager at Haldane’s who has recently completed our SVQ Level 4 programme. A lot of interesting discussions were had regarding future business plans, opinions of our programmes and of course a general chit chat.
Trudy was seated next to the CEO of FMB, and one of our long term clients, Brian Berry. It was a great opportunity for Trudy and Brian to catch up. We have done a lot of workshops, products and programmes with Brian in the past and we look forward to continue to work with him in the future.
All in all it was a fantastic day and night and a great opportunity for part of our team to speak to our long term clients and to hear about their continued success. It was also an excellent way to meet other companies who are interested in developing their workforce through our fully funded modern apprenticeship programmes. We cannot wait until next years event. Thank you FMB Scotland!
We would also like to say a big congratulations to Lindsay Neil from Crannog Construction for becoming the Vice Chair of FMB Scotland. Lindsay is currently doing our NVQ7 and it is great to see that he is succeeding and aspiring others to develop and to learn new skills.
