Less than two months to go before the Apprenticeship Levy begins!
Astonishingly, over half of the UK’s HR professional are currently unaware of the opportunities that Apprenticeship Levy can bring even though it is fast approaching. It is thought that the reason as to why this is the case is because they have not acknowledged that the Apprenticeship Levy can assist the organisation significantly in ways such as filling leadership gaps within the business.
It might not be widely recognised by these organisations that the next-generation apprenticeships can help in addressing skill gaps. Senior leaders may be put off of taking part in an apprenticeship due to the fact that they feel understandably that in their senior position, they do not lack in skills that are required to bring the organisation forward. What they do not realise about this though is that upcoming changes relax prior achievement rules which means that managers, directors and senior officials as well as new recruits are able to receive senior leadership development funding via the apprenticeship levy.
And that’s just one of the reasons as to why organisations and HR professional should be aware of the opportunities that the Apprenticeship levy can bring to their organisation.
In order to provide more information regarding the Apprenticeship Levy, CITB have organised a Conference where they will be presenting a 3 day policy and practice conference dedicated to the apprenticeships. The details are as follows:
When: 22-24 March 2017
Where: International Convention Centre, Birmingham
How: You will need to register and in order to do so please click here.
There will be two ILM sessions:
- “You’re hired- closing the leadership skills gap with management apprenticeships” – 23 March at 15:30 hosted by Becky James, ILM’s Director of Business Development and Sales
- “Maximising learner engagement and completion- ‘ask the experts’ panel session”- 22 March at 14:30 hosted by Becky James, ILM’s Director of Business Development and Sales.
You will not want to miss this, but if you are unable to go, please go to the CITB website for more information regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and what it could offer your organisation.
