SDS Quality Assurance Assessment: Outcomes and Impacts

We have been audited by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and our high standards have been recognised! As a result, we have additional fully funded places on our upcoming SVQ Level 3 and 4 programmes. Places are limited and going quick! To celebrate our great success, we are sharing our audit with you over the next month. Today we are summarising the ‘outcomes and impact’ discussed by SDS.

1. We have a 95% achievement rate

We were awarded our first Modern Apprenticeship contract in 2017-18 for 89 places. Due to high achievement rates and successful delivery of our developmental SVQ Programmes, we nearly doubled our places for our 2018-19 contract. In addition to our ability to fill our places, our achievement rate exceeds SDS national benchmark by 25%. As a team we are extremely pleased with this as our focus is continually on our candidates and helping them achieve their qualification.

2. We keep candidates motivated to complete their SVQ on time

Due to our structured approach to SVQs, candidates can work through their qualification systematically. Before a candidate begins their developmental journey with Esteem, the road to their qualification is mapped out. Candidates can see how much time should be allocated to what part of their VQ and can plan accordingly. We appreciate that juggling work with an SVQ can be challenging and we want to help our candidates as much as we can. With our structured approach we have very low ‘inactivity’ within our candidates as they are kept motivated to complete their qualification on time.

3. We received excellent feedback from our candidates and their employers

During our Audit SDS interviewed some of our candidates and their employers to ensure we were meeting and exceeding training needs. We are thrilled to announce that SDS found that employers were ‘extremely satisfied with training and the model of delivery.’ This might explain our 49% repeat business rate!
