Scotland Master Builder Awards winner

Martina and Andrew were delighted to be present at the FMB Master Builder Awards ceremony.
Local Falkirk builder Haldane Construction has scooped two prestigious Master Builder Awards, taking the prize for best New Home and best Kitchen Project at the Federation of Master Builders’ (FMB) Scotland ceremony. The event was attended by a number of high profile guests including the Leader of the Conservative Party in Scotland and MSP for Edinburgh Central Ruth Davidson.
Now in its 13th year, the Master Builder Awards continues to be a flagship for high-quality building work. Organised by the FMB, the awards programme is unique in that any project entered by the builder must be backed up by the customer – giving home owners the opportunity to support those building companies that have delivered exceptional results.
Haldane Construction was selected by Scotland’s judges to win the best New Home Award and best Kitchen Award, and will now go through to compete in the national finals for the chance to win the UK category title. The ceremony will be held at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London on 15th September 2017 and will be hosted by TV presenter and building enthusiast Nick Knowles.
The best New Home award was presented to Haldane Construction for the construction of a 1.5 storey house with a traditional wet dash finish incorporating traditional slate roofs, chimneys and fireplaces. The building was finished to an extremely high standard using quality building materials resulting in a beautifully designed home for the happy owners.
Proving to be more than a one-hit-wonder, Haldane Construction secured its second award for Best Kitchen for refurbishment work carried out in a listed building, constructing a working kitchen in a circular fashion around a newly built turret. The project has been meticulously crafted, marrying old and new elements respectfully, with precise attention to architectural detail and care in construction.
Gordon Nelson, Director of FMB Scotland, said: “The Master Builder Awards give the FMB the opportunity to celebrate a job well done and for clients to say thank you to their builders. For the building industry, it is an opportunity to celebrate all that is good about small local builders and their importance to the UK economy.
“Time and time again we have been impressed with just how far these builders will go to ensure their client is happy. It is this dedication that we want to celebrate. Haldane Construction should feel justly proud of its achievement in winning and we wish the firm every success in the national competition.”
If Haldane Construction wins the overall Master Builder Awards title, selected from all category winners, the team will receive a brand new Vauxhall Light Commercial Vehicle worth up to £20,000. Their clients will also receive a cheque for £1,000 for their efforts.
