The end of our fifth Construction Site Supervision Programme

A big congratulations to our candidates who have recently completed our fifth, Modern Apprenticeship Construction Site Supervision programme. A fantastic achievement and we hope that this programme will help you step into management.

CSS P5 Workshop

Over the duration of the programme everyone at Esteem has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of the candidates and learning more about what they do. With the candidates coming from a variety of companies including J.Sives Surfacing, Black Brothers, SJS, RCS Contracts, Albann Construction, John Mcleod and CCG, workshop discussions were very interesting as everyone approached situations in a different manner. All the candidates have worked extremely hard to complete the programme and have shown excellent project management skills with regards to allocating time for uploading evidence etc. They have been a great group of candidates and we wish them the best of luck for the future.

Our Construction Site Supervision programme is an excellent opportunity for Site Supervisors who are stepping into management positions. The programme explores a variety of useful topics including how to manage a team successfully and how to develop and implement robust systems. During the one to one sessions with their assessors and at workshops our candidates have the opportunity to discuss certain topics and evidence in greater detail. At Esteem we work hard to ensure that individuals on this programme will achieve their SVQ Level 3 Qualification and CSCS Gold Card. We also want to help them develop within their role and to build confidence.

At the final workshop our candidates participated in a challenging exercise called Rollerball. This is a game whereby candidates are split into three teams and are given the task of creating a bridge for a ping-pong ball to roll down. This may sound simple, however, there are a many twists and turns (literally) the team must go through to meet the task objectives. With lots of problem solving, team work and of course lots of laughter the group managed to successfully complete the exercise! This is the first time a group of candidates on one of our Modern Apprenticeship programmes has managed this on the first go. We may need to start thinking of a few more challenges to add to the exercise.

Once again congratulations to our candidates. We hope you have enjoyed this programme and have learnt valuable skills which will help you progress within your role.
