Meet Lauren and Muhammad – our two newest ‘steemies’

March may have blown in with chilly temperatures and blustery winds, but it also heralded the arrival of our two newest team members – Lauren Hosie and Muhammad Khalid. Both are settling in well, and relishing their new challenge.

Lauren has joined as Onboarding Coordinator, providing key support for Operations Director Martina Höfner and the wider Business Development team of Andy Findlater (Business Development Manager) and Jenna Woods (Trainee Business Development Coordinator). Muhammad joins as our Modern Apprenticeship (MA) Coordinator, working closely alongside Finance Director Ian Grigg and the wider Modern Apprenticeship team of Grant Savage (Esteem Coordinator), Jori Kim (Programme Coordinator) and Emma Farnington (Operations Coordinator).

We are delighted to be continuing the steady growth which has allowed us to expand the team during these challenging coronavirus-restricted times. Lauren and Muhammad are both focused on supporting our candidate journey and we’re pleased to welcome them as important new members of the steemies family.

Commenting on her first few weeks in the role, Lauren said: “Muhammad and I have been made so welcome, and that’s gone a long way towards helping us settle into our new roles. Esteem is such a tightly-knit team, and everyone is so encouraging, that it’s been easy to absorb the supportive company culture which so clearly revolves around helping our candidates to achieve their best. I’ve already learned so much, and it’s been great to share the ‘new steemie’ experience with Muhammad as we develop together. We’re grateful to have joined the Esteem team, particularly as they’re so knowledgeable yet very willing to share their expertise.”

Muhammad added: “ There’s certainly been a lot to take in, but I’m loving getting to grips with helping candidates settle into their online learning and manage, for them, the funding process and other links with Skills Development Scotland.

“The team has been incredibly welcoming to Lauren and I, and that’s a large part of why I wanted to join the company. I feel the same passion to help candidates gain valuable industry qualifications that’ll help them progress in their career so it’s great to be able to play such an active role in helping bring that about.”

Welcome to the team Lauren and Muhammad – we’re delighted to have you on board!
