Build a Better Leader (BBL) is a Construction-specific Senior Management and Leadership programme leading to an SVQ at SCQF Level 11 (Masters degree level). It is designed to strengthen strategic leadership capability within the construction sector, combining practical, work-based learning with academic rigour.

The programme is designed for Directors and Senior Managers working in the construction industry who hold responsibility for strategic leadership, people management, and business performance within their organisation.
3. Do I need any prior qualifications to join?
No formal academic qualifications are required. Entry is based on your role, experience, and level of responsibility within your organisation.

4. What does the programme involve?
The programme consists of:
- 5 full-day interactive workshops
- 4 half-day Action Learning Sets (peer-to-peer learning)
- 1:1 coaching sessions
- A bespoke toolkit workbook covering over 50% of the qualification
- A Business Innovation Project based on your organisation
- Harvard Business Review Handbook
- An online e-portfolio with resources and templates
- Ongoing assessor and candidate support
5. Is the programme full-time or part-time?
The programme is part-time and work-based, allowing you to continue in your senior role while completing the qualification.
6. Are there exams?
No formal written exams. Assessment is competence- and evidence-based, using real workplace activity, reflective practice, professional discussion and your Business Innovation Project.

7. Is there any funcding available?
Yes. In Scotland, the programme is funded through the Skills Development Scotland Modern Apprenticeship Scheme. Outside Scotland, we can still deliver the programme and support you in exploring available funding options.
8. Are there grants or financial support?
Yes. Upon successful completion, candidates may be eligible for a CITB Short Duration Qualification Grant, subject to eligibility criteria.
