Our Site of the Month: Stirling Castle

Well what a busy month April was. The team were out in force visiting candidates across Scotland and helping them achieve their SVQ qualification. To celebrate our adventures we have decided to do a ‘Site of the Month’ and our chosen site for April is… Stirling Castle!

As part of our SVQ Level 3, Occupational Work Supervision programme we carry out an on-site visit with our candidates. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates to ask questions and also for evidence to be gathered. It is also fantastic for the team to see candidates implementing what they have learnt at our workshops. With this, Cheryl visited to Thomas from RCS at Stirling Castle!

Thomas is part of a team working on a complete strip out and rebuild of the Sutherland Highlanders museum in the castle. This was a very interesting visit as certain precautions were needed to ensure the building was protected at all times. As you can imagine this is a challenge and has required some innovative thinking.

For example, nothing is allowed to be put into the walls or wood so the team have come up with new ways of mounting alarm etc! See picture below.

At Esteem, we love to get out and about and see first hand the exceptional work our candidates are doing and to watch them put what they are learning into practice.

Stay tuned to find out where the team goes this month!
