The End of our Fourth MA Construction Site Supervisor programme

Our fourth Modern Apprenticeship Construction Site Supervisor programme has come to an end. We were sad to see the candidates go because as usual they have been a great bunch of individuals who were eager to learn new skills and to develop in their role as Site Supervisor.

Our Construction Site Supervisor programme involved the candidates attending a handful of 1:1 sessions with their assessor which are designed to offer the candidates as much support as is required, a site visit alongside the candidates attending 6 half day developmental workshops which covers the knowledge and understanding aspects of the SVQ qualification. With the candidates coming from a variety of companies including AGM, CCG, A & M Macrete SalesDPC Building Solutions  Ltd and ARNB Alterations Renovation & New Build, it meant that the workshop discussions were very interesting and gave the candidates the opportunity to network and to learn from each others experiences. This is a key reason for running these workshops as our goal at Esteem is not only to get our candidates to the finish line so that they can receive their CSCS Gold Card but also so that they can develop in their role as Site Supervisor. All the candidates certainly worked hard to remain on target throughout the programme and did not even let the ‘Beast from the East’ in January stop them from attending one of the workshops. We suspect that might have something to do with the bacon rolls and tasty treats the Westerwood Hotel provides!

Our final workshop ended with a laugh-inducing Rollerball game. A game whereby candidates are split into three teams and are given the task of creating a bridge for a ping-pong ball to roll down. This may sound simple but there are a few twists and turns (literally) that the teams must go through to meet the task objectives. It is always a fun activity which is guaranteed to involve some problem solving, team work and of course lots of laughter.
