Trail West bring in the New Year in rousing style

We all heaved a sigh of relief as 2020 finally left the building and we could wind down to spend quality time relaxing and celebrating safely with loved ones within our social bubbles.
But one member of the Esteem Training team was more active than most on Hogmanay. Our very own Andy Findlater, Business Development Manager and his ceilidh band Trail West played a starring role in BBC Alba’s Hogmanay show ‘Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire’, hosted by Cathy Macdonald (Cathy NicDhòmhnaill) and Niall Iain Macdonald (Niall Iain Dòmhnallach).
Drummer Andy is a core member of Trail West, whose six talented musicians have forged a solid reputation within Glasgow’s Gaelic community over the past 10 years. The band is known for their close ties to the Hebridean isles of Tiree and South Uist.
Andy’s fellow band members include Alain Campbell (guitar and whistles), Allan Nairn (electric guitar), Ian Smith (accordion), Jonathan Gillespie (keyboard) and Seonaigh MacIntyre (whistle, pipes, vocals and guitar). True to form, Trail West delivered a fabulously foot-stomping performance to see off the old year and welcome in the new.
Trail West’s fourth album, ‘Countless Isles and Endless Miles’ was released on 11 December, 2020 and the BBC Alba Hogmanay TV show represented the icing on the cake for the band’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
